After my almost 20 annual holidays and my emigration 7 years ago, I spent a few days in the beautiful south. To be honest, it is my favorite place on the island 😀 In this post, I will give you a little inspiration for the \”perfect day in the south of Mallorca\”
The perfect start to the day
As probably every travel guide says, we start the day at the market in Santanyi around 9:30. Every Wednesday and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. you can stroll through narrow streets and look at the exhibitors' great stands. What I personally find beautiful about this market is the wide selection of jewelry and ceramic serenades along the alleys. Santanyi also offers a variety of art studios, such as Greta Milla, which are definitely worth a visit.
After strolling around the market a bit and perhaps picking up one or two souvenirs, we now move on to a well-deserved breakfast. And in Cafe Pablo , a large breakfast selection and a nice atmosphere. A little tip at this point: making a reservation on market days is not a bad idea 🙂
Now that we have strengthened ourselves, we can continue to look at the market in a relaxed manner and stroll around a bit. For our next item on the program, we buy some fruit from the market stalls and a few delicacies of our choice from the bakery stalls, because we're going on the water.
A lunch in the south of the island of Mallorca
As already mentioned, we go out on the water without a license and without a skipper, just be the captain ourselves.
We drive a bit along the coast and end up in my favorite place on the island”Porto Colom” Whatever you like, you can enjoy a coffee in one of the countless cafés right by the harbor.
We have one the day before for the early afternoon Rented a boat. To view the south coast from the water, we drive out of the harbor. Personally, I think the left side, after leaving the harbor, is nicer. Here are a few more bays worth stopping at. Such as Cala Brafi or Caló des Moro.
After we have discovered the coast a little and cooled down, we drive back into the harbor and say goodbye to our boat.
The beautiful Caló des Moro is difficult to reach from the beach in summer.
Cala Brafi, also fantastic.
An evening in the south of the island
After experiencing a lot today, we are definitely hungry.
A real insider tip is a wonderful dinner in what is probably the most popular bay on the island, es Trenc. In addition to daily business, the beach bar is also open in the evenings. We end the evening between the sound of the sea, the sand in our feet and delicious food.
